Returning to Gate 44 in 2025 after her initial 2024 residency focused on photopolymer etching, Sharbani Das Gupta expanded her printmaking practice. This visit saw the creation of three photopolymer matrices: two dedicated to water-reflected landscapes from her latest journeys, and a third featuring a plant from her own garden.
In collaboration with Gate 44, Sharbani explored the expressive potential of chine collé and monotype, building her images through rich, layered interventions. Her distinctive dialogue between printmaking and photography is particularly intriguing, given her foundational practice in ceramics, lending a unique tactile and conceptual dimension to her prints.
