Print, Cut, Repeat

Pauline D’Andigné (born in 1996) lives and works in Paris. A graduate of École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, she first approached her practice through sculpture before developing, over the past several years, a painterly body of work marked by vivid colors, heterogeneous materials, and eclectic references. The dynamism of her canvases stems less from representation than from a deeply intuitive pictorial experience. Her gesture belongs to the realm of urgency, almost of an inner necessity. What is revealed is not an image, but a process: that of a painting that is made, undone, and replayed at every moment, until the exhaustion of an inner motif, guided by an evidence that precedes knowledge.

Pauline d’Andigné’s work has been presented in numerous gallery and institutional exhibitions across Europe and internationally, notably at the Musée des Beaux-Arts d’Angers in France and at MACA in Uruguay, where the artist held a solo exhibition in 2024. The artist has been represented by Ketabi Bourdet since 2022. She has also collaborated with Piero Atchugarry Gallery in Miami since 2024.

Print, Cut, Repeat

“Print, Cut, Repeat” is a solo exhibition by Pauline D’Andigné featuring works on paper produced during her residency and presented by Gate 44 and Romero Paprocki Gallery from 28 May to 12 September 2026.

Walking the line between painting and printmaking, Pauline created a series of monotypes reworked through a rich interplay of materials, textures, and finishes, displaying a luscious richness of media and techniques that bring to life fascinating and evocative atmospheres.
The works express the courage of joyfulness; they evoke a state of physical bliss achieved through the exercise of mental freedom — the act of reconsidering and reconfiguring. They carry us to a timeless place defined by flickering and blinding beauty unfolding through space like a burst of pleasure: a pleasure never devoid of pain and fear, yet one that finds its resolution through their contemplation.

Flickering between light and darkness, she invites us to consider that the path to understanding lies in the moment of transition itself — in the act of change, in the space between light and darkness, in that invisible and imperceptible instant that divides them.
